So proud of players and fans
I feel I must write to congratulate Shrewsbury Town on a wonderful performance at Milton Keynes Dons.
I feel I must write to congratulate Shrewsbury Town on a wonderful performance at Milton Keynes Dons.
I have supported the Town for in excess of 40 years and seen some marvellous times through promotion and several cup runs.
But this performance eclipsed everything for me because, despite being a die-hard Shrewsbury fan, I didn't think they would manage it. The sheer guts and effort displayed was nothing less than superb and credit should go to the management and staff for this.
It is hard to pick out individuals but I thought Kelvin Langmead was fantastic as were his fellow defenders. Neil Ashton had a brilliant first half and Michael Symes was immense in the second half when he teamed up with Cookie.
And what can you say about Cookie! The way he took his two goals was fantastic. Ben Davies was also outstanding.
I was unable to get a ticket for the match and had to make do with the television. The Shrewsbury Town fans present were absolutely marvellous in support of our team and their voices were heard well above those of the Milton Keynes fans.
I would like to thank and congratulate Gary Peters.
I hope to get a ticket for the final at Wembley and like many others will be proud to wear the amber and blue. Come on boys, you can do it.
Martyn Clarke, Bayston Hill
