Asbo's are clearly not working

In June 2006, a young Shropshire female was issued with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (Asbo). She had made the lives of residents in her community a nightmare.

Since that time she has been caught and charged by the police 10 times for breaching her Asbo. And what did the courts do?

- December 2006, a six- month supervision order.

- December 2006, a 12- month supervision order.

- January 2007, a 12- month supervision order and now March 2007, a 12- month rehabilitation order.

Four community orders all running at the same time and none having the slightest effect.

The police, who we are all too aware have a very difficult and dangerous job, keep catching this person and the courts do not seem willing to back them up or be protecting the communities which they serve.

So, are Asbos working? No!
