Problems over bin emptying
As summer approaches everyone in the Telford & Wrekin area can look forward to the fortnightly bin collection causing awful smells, maggot and vermin infestations and worse.

Recent reports indicate that the presence of uncollected waste food for such periods can enable the growth of fungi which then release millions of spores into the air and cause asthma and possibly mycotic lung infections.
Of course this appears to be of little interest to councillors whose primary motivation is to save money for allocation to pet projects whilst providing a significantly poorer bin collection service level that is to the detriment of virtually all of the electorate.
Many councils around the UK will not go to fortnightly collections - and some have actually returned to weekly collections.
Before voting on May 3, I would suggest that everyone asks the candidates or looks at their literature to establish whether they will reintroduce the weekly collection of all waste.
