UKIP not aware of meeting

Regarding a report in the Shropshire Star, April 19, on a public meeting about saving jobs at our MoD local bases entitled, "Make your vote count".

It was stated that UKIP and the Liberal Democrats failed to attend and that about only 15 members of the public did.

Having not seen any advance publicity about the meeting, as a UKIP council candidate I can only advise that this is why UKIP did not have a representative in attendance.

UKIP held a meeting on the Thursday, April 12.

UKIP is against any reduction in the UK armed forces and supports the retention of all MoD bases in Shropshire.
