Party must look at our successes

The Labour Party literature I have just received states that Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council spent a staggering £216,000.

This equates to a packet of crisps per resident, per week - and look what we get for our money now.

What they failed to tell us was how much wasteful expenditure had been trimmed from the budget after 28 years of Labour's housekeeping.

On taking control in 2003, we cancelled a booking they had made for more than £5,000 for a one-off pantomime, which would have been seen by only a small percentage of the children in the parish.

We also removed an annual £1,500 payment for the upkeep of a Telford & Wrekin owned property.

Come on Labour, if the best you can do is to knock our spending, I suggest you look at all the improvements in the parish in the last four years - see our election leaflets.
