Why give money to RSPCA?

Why do people give money to the RSPCA? Why don't they give it to the fire service, as you read in the papers these days that it is fire crews who risk their lives to save animals and not the RSPCA.

After reading another excuse in the Shropshire Star that they refused on safety grounds to save a ferret, in an attic on health and safety reasons, they don't even have a trap to catch the ferret.

As usual they expected someone else to do their job - then they would call and do the easy job and pick it up later and find it a home.

Again, we find someone else doing the job for the RSPCA.
