Miss S Faulkner (Star letter April 9) is one of the honest and believing people who are being misled by global warming fanatics and politicians who seek power by exaggerating and falsifying figures.

The IPCC report predicts events based on dangers if global temperatures were to rise by four degrees centigrade, but it makes silly claims, for instance that Africa faces a complete drought, and at the same time a rapid rise in malaria cases. Clearly nonsense, because if there is no water the disease will diminish, not increase.

These eco-zealots will tolerate no scientific examination of their "closed case" for climate change, and indeed many environmental scientists who have dared to question obvious flaws in their theory, have been hounded out of their jobs.

The Green Lobbyists say that China faces being overtaken by deserts but this has been happening in that region for thousands of years.

When "eminent scientists" predicted 35 years ago that by the year 2000, Britain would be experiencing a new Ice Age, and uninhabitable, they were utterly wrong, so how do they expect us to believe we are all going to be fried by global warming?

How quickly politicians can change their tunes when it suits their purpose is shown by the Iran hostages fiasco - you can sell your story - now you can't! Global cooling now global warming - whatever next?
