Hill Fort must be protected

Profit and tourism drive our economy, but I hope that due care is given when developing a heritage asset such as Oswestry Hill Fort to ensuring that the interests of preservation of the site from erosion by the tread of thousands of feet, preservation of its wildlife and, above all, the interests of local people are not overridden.

The fort has survived all these centuries in such a good state of preservation because it has been off the beaten track and not so widely known about.

But now it will be advertised to the world, and I fear it will be more eroded in the next few decades.

Should present day business come before preservation of history? Should our heritage be so endangered and "milked" for profit? I'm not sure of the answer.
