My thanks to the Shropshire Star's Toby Neal for his review of the book, Dusty Warriors by Richard Holmes - a first class review of an impressive book.

I had not heard of the author, but trusted Mr Neal's review.
Accounts by professional soldiers in Iraq are far removed from accounts allowed out of the White House and 10 Downing Street.
It is an amazing moving book, full of the courage which overcomes fear in impossible situations. But I remain convinced that our forces should not be sent to any war when millions doubt the rightness of it.
Is there a more insane way for problems to be solved?
I should like to think Mr Bush and Mr Blair will read this book and try to deter others from beginning such a terrible war.
But I expect they will be writing their own accounts, and adding to their wealth with lectures overseas. Have either of them read Wilfred Owen's war poems?
