Stem this water leak

I would like to bring to your attention the total lack of regard when one of our most precious commodities is being wasted.

Near the traffic lights in Oakengates Road, Donnington, there are literally gallons of good water spewing all along a wall each day.

This water is wasted and has nowhere to go but down the pavement and on to the road and into a drain much further along.

It was only last week that I saw an elderly lady waiting at the nearby bus stop up to her ankles in water, there was nowhere else she could wait to avoid the flood of water.

We are told daily to conserve our energy and natural resources and it is a travesty to see such waste.

This lack of concern by those responsible is dreadful and this problem has been going on for months.

What happens when the wall collapses and takes tonnes of earth with it. It is all being held in place by the wall?

I have reported this to Severn Trent Water who said it had not been reported before now. However, when I said I did not know the name of the leak, they quoted it to me. I find it difficult to believe it had not been reported considering how long this has been going on.

Would you please bring this to the attention of your readers and perhaps something can be done.
