Under the heading "Climate change is no myth", Colin Taylor's letter in the Star on March 16 referred to a film called An Inconvenient Truth.

If Mr Taylor had watched the recent television documentary called The Great Global Warming Swindle he would know that subsequent research has proved that the link between CO2 and global warming claimed by that film was totally incorrect.

Although analysis of the ice core initially seemed to suggest that, over thousands of years, temperature changes had always reflected changes in CO2 levels, further study has since proved that these temperature changes always came first.

The CO2 level simply increased afterwards as CO2 was released from the oceans as they warmed.

Whether global warming is set to continue remains to be seen, but it certainly does not appear to have any connection to our CO2 emissions.
