Meeting needed on transfer

Re: Oswestry Borough Council transfer to Stafford Housing Association.
We keep hearing about the £25 million that will be invested after transfer, but they are not telling us that the £25 million will be borrowed from banks and building societies.
This money will have to be paid back with interest and when interest rates go up the rents will have to go up to pay for it.
Last March, Paul Shevlin stated that the houses were to be transferred to South Stafford Housing Association and this was so unpopular that Oswestry Housing Association was dreamed up. They gave it a local name to fool tenants.
Oswestry Housing Association will belong to the Central Borders Housing Group and this is owned by South Stafford Housing Association. South Stafford already has the details of all Oswestry tenants and is producing and sending out Oswestry Housing Association propaganda direct from Stafford.
The time has come for Oswestry Borough Council to organise a public meeting where tenants can ask questions that need answers. There should be no problem with this unless the council has something to hide.
