Britain on slippery slope

As I predicted, closure of RAF Cosford is to go ahead, simply because Tory MPs were elected to the area, and Labour wants to hang on to their marginal Welsh seats. It stinks!

As I predicted, closure of RAF Cosford is to go ahead, simply because Tory MPs were elected to the area, and Labour wants to hang on to their marginal Welsh seats. It stinks!

Worse still, when the base closes, it will not be used for housing or industry, because the "local plan" states that it must be "returned to agriculture", (after 69 years) despite the fact farmers are being paid to take land out of production.

Already, greedy "appr-oved contractors" are rubbing their hands together at the lucrative "derelict land grants" they will be given to destroy a thriving facility that could provide homes and employment, notwithstanding the end of military training there.

We can now look forward to closure of the rest of Shropshire's military bases, as our Army, Air Force and Navy are reduced to nothing, leaving the UK open to takeover and helplessness.

This situation nearly happened before, in the 1930s when our armed forces were cut in response to the "peace mongers", and Hitler almost ruled the world as a result.

Do we really want the Taliban and Al Quaida driving down the Mall in triumph?

The writing is on the wall, but most people are too punch drunk by recycling, global warming, immigration and debt to see what is happening to Britain.
