Housing must be improved
On January 3, I had a letter placed on the letters page headed "housing record is shameful". I have also written to and e-mailed a number of Telford & Wrekin councillors who to date have ignored my concerns.
On January 3, I had a letter placed on the letters page headed "housing record is shameful". I have also written to and e-mailed a number of Telford & Wrekin councillors who to date have ignored my concerns.
However, I was phoned by a number of people, in response to my letter on the letters page. One telephone call was quite interesting in the fact that it warned me off. The caller advised me "it is in your best interest to drop this topic." All I have to say in return is your threat is not being listened to and the ignorance of our councillors has only served to spur me on to take further action.
I have now started an online petition to petition the Prime Minister and hopefully have a positive impact on housing policy, in particular social housing.
This can be found at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/

I also note that the Shropshire Star afforded Telford & Wrekin Council a large section headed "Council to discuss housing shake-up".
This is the council's attempt to move from a topic that is a "hot potato". I just wonder why they will not cover the true state of affairs with equal vigour.
