Shocked by public's attitude

I am absolutely shocked to hear the two ladies who sell the Big Issue have had complaints about them being "aggressive" in their selling techniques and that the Big Issue has moved them on without an inquiry.

I have bought Big Issues from them for some time now and have never ever found them aggressive.

Yes they shout out "Big Issue" and "magazine for the homeless" but they stay in one spot, they don't walk up to you like some other people do in Pride Hill trying to get you to sign up for catalogues or charity direct debit schemes.

You can easily smile and walk past them, they don't follow you down the street or shout abuse.

I am so shocked at whoever has complained about them. You should see how some Big Issue sellers try to persuade you to buy in the big cities. I am so annoyed to belong to a town that will be seen to act this way to people just trying to honestly keep them and their children housed and fed.

Thank goodness that I'm not alone. I've just been listening to other caring Shropshire people ringing, e-mailing and texting Jim Hawkins's morning show on BBC Radio Shropshire who also feel as I do.
