Dogs must be under control
My heart goes out to the family and friends of the five-year-old girl killed by a pit bull terrier at new year. Why does something tra-gic like this have to happen before the powers that be take action against offenders?
My heart goes out to the family and friends of the five-year-old girl killed by a pit bull terrier at new year. Why does something tra-gic like this have to happen before the powers that be take action against offenders? This seems to be the case right across the board, no matter what the subject.
On the motoring side, junctions, speed limits etc are not controlled until someone is hurt or killed.
On the dog side, does it really matter what size the animal is? From what I gather, a dog warden cannot do anything about a dog roaming unless a person catches the dog and phones the dog warden, who will pick the animal up.
If the owner contacts the warden, all they pay is £10 and they can take the pet home. The only time the owner gets fined is if the dog is caught fouling in public while under the control of the owner.
I have been in touch with the warden recently about a dog that is constantly let out in the street.
Surely this comes under the heading of "unsocial behaviour" on the owner's part?
How much longer do we have to put up with this?
