Be extremely vigilant aga-inst any move by Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council to deprive children of their rightful play areas, for the sake of development.

We in Whitehouse Gardens did not believe for one moment that the council would stoop so low as to deprive the children of their one and only play area, but they have carried out their despicable threat.

I have, for the past year, since finding out about the possible intentions of this "couldn't care less" council, tried everything to reverse its unacceptable decision.

But to no avail. We have sadly lost our fight.

I was born within yards of the site of the play area and I am fully aware of the rightful owners of this land. Without any doubt it was not, repeat not, this council.

It has been extremely devious in the seizure of this land. I will never accept what this bunch of degenerates has done in depriving children of their play area.

There has been no consultation and a request for a community council meeting was refused. We have been treated with contempt, and informed by an arrogant council employee that if we want our children to use a play area, they must use one in an alternative street.
