Hospitals did appear unclean
I have not visited a hospital for quite a while, so when I visited the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford recently, I was keen to see if the media reports were true. Walking down a long corridor, every glass panel on every door was covered in marks and handprints.
Surely hands carry germs and especially visitors from outside are carrying germs into the hospital?
Upon leaving the hospital, I noticed that the large sliding doors were also dirty.
Some weeks later I had to visit the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The two pairs of sliding doors at the entrance were dirty, and again, covered in handprints.
Their waiting area was carpeted, which I felt would be more hygienic if it had a floor which could be washed.
The professionals which I encountered at each hospital could not be faulted, but if the basic levels of cleanliness are not met, then their good work may be ruined.
