Those gas bills keep coming
I've been reading with interest people's complaints regarding energy increases and problems with British Gas. I'd like to warn people that changing from British Gas to another supplier will not necessarily solve the problems you have with this company.
I changed to another supplier in March/April this year. Prior to this I had both my gas and electricity supplies from British Gas, and moved both of these accounts to another company.
Since moving, I continue to get billed for gas from British Gas, although I am paying my bills to the new company. I have phoned British Gas on numerous occasions, just to be put on hold and passed on to other departments.
I was even told that this was my problem and I had to chase up who actually owned my gas meter as it was this company to blame for the transfer not going smoothly.
I have just had a red bill from British gas for £198.00.Ê
Although I have contacted Energy Watch who are looking into the problem on my behalf, I worry about others who may not be as astute who may also be receiving bills.ÊHow many people are paying two companies for there fuel supplies, thinking that they owe this money?
Is this just a ploy to cause problems and make money out of those who have migrated? Maybe they are hoping previous customers will get fed up with the hassle and move back? I'm sure I'm not the only person who has had problems closing my account with British Gas.
