Get rid of Labour

We have seen the public outcry at proposals to close or downgrade many of our hospitals throughout North, Mid and South Wales. I am concerned like many at these proposals which will have huge implications for the people of Wales.

This situation could have been resolved if the opposition parties in the Welsh Assembly called for a no confidence motion in Mr Rhodri Morgan and the Labour administration.

They would then have control of policy and be able to stop these ludicrous proposals if they so wished.

Labour has not had the majority of seats since the late Peter Law's victory in the 2005 General Election, resulting in him becoming an MP and continuing as an Independent Assembly member.

This has continued since his passing earlier this year with another Independent candidate returned to sit in the Assembly.

So the question I ask is why have the opposition parties in the Welsh Assembly failed to take advantage of Labour's dilemma? Maybe it is because life in opposition is much easier than in Government.

In recent months we have seen the opposition parties vote together when they feel like it - for example defeating Labour over last year's budget - but I would like to know why they have failed the Welsh people by not forcing Rhodri out of office?

This could have prevented the ridiculous policy on hospital downgrades and possible closures in Wales.
