Littering should be reported
Your recent correspondent, Noel Petford, asks where the bailiffs are who look after Castle Pools (known as Little Dawley Pools and not as he says Aqueduct Pools).
Unfortunately the bailiff for the pools has had to give up patrolling as he is scheduled to have a replacement knee operation.
However, bailiffs are not responsible for the control of rats and if Mr Petford thinks there is a problem he should report the matter to Telford & Wrekin Council.
With regard to litter, much of it is deposited by the public. Telford Angling Association, which controls the fishing rights at the pools, has strict rules about litter, and any angler found littering faces a ban from all Telford AA waters.
Catching those responsible is the difficult part, so anyone who sees others leaving litter should report it.
Angling seems to have more than its share of idiots who don't know any better than to leave litter. It is up to all sensible anglers to help deal with them.
