Appeal to join Irish cycle ride

I would like to call on all cyclists from Shropshire to take on an amazing challenge while raising cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Marie Curie Cancer Care has just launched its new Malin to Mizen Head Irish Cycle Challenge. Taking place in June 2007, the challenge will see 55 cyclists covering the length of Ireland in just six-and-a-half days.

The event is going to be a challenging one, but the rewards are enormous - just think how good you'll feel having completed such an amazing personal challenge while knowing that you've helped raise money for a worthwhile cause.

Last year the 15 Marie Curie nurses working in the Shropshire area provided 8,137 hours nursing care to some 105 cancer patients, enabling them to spend their final days at home.

The care and support given to patients is provided free of charge to patients and their families.

Care costs millions to provide and the charity depends on the support of the public to fund its services. Taking part in the Irish cycle challenge is just one of the ways you can help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
