Congrats on learning community
I congratulate the Shropshire Star in delivering a genuine good news story in September 5 edition about the Hadley Learning Community. I know the principal, Dr Eatough, from the year she spent at the Phoenix School, Dawley, when I was a pupil. She is the natural and right choice for this flagship project.
It is also encouraging that the next generation of Telford and Wrekin adults are being educated at one of the newest, biggest and best-resourced schools in the country. I'm glad to see the borough council, under the leadership of Keith Austin and Peggie Harrison, working together with the Telford MP is prioritising education in Telford.
I urge them to support the application of Phoenix School in its bid to become a sports college, which will benefit the pupils there. Carry on the good work.
Shaun Davies, 20, Telford
