Appeal for help with song lyrics
For the last 10 years, my wife and I have visited day centres, nursing homes and care centres, with my sing-a-long with Syd programme (we are both over 80.) My sound equipment was made possible by a Help the Aged lottery grant and last year I was presented with a county award at the Shire Hall for my services.
My grandson gave me a computer on which I produce large print song sheets. I have also led the Christmas carol sing-a-long at a Ludlow school for the last eight years.
But now I'm hoping one of your readers can help me with the lyrics of a song, I have the music, the title of the song is My Shadow's Where My Sweetheart Used To Be. The Joe Loss Orchestra did a version and Sam Browne did a vocal of it.
I'm hoping to use it in a medley made up of, Me and My Shadow and Dancing With My Shadow.
To date my wife and I have, made more than two hundred visits to over sixties groups and the calls are still coming in.
Please look in your loft for any old 78s or sheet music.
