A team of 10 firefighters would like to express their thanks for the assistance and support that they have received during their fundraising events. The team cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats in May 2006.
As part of the fundraising activities, the team held a charity street collection in the Darwin Shopping Centre. Other activities were charity raffles including a raffle for a 11kg bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate, which was kindly donated by a member of the public, a charity auction and general sponsorship.
In total the team have raised £6,500 which will be presented to the three nominated charities on September 1, 2006 - Macmillan Cancer Relief, Hope House Children's Hospice and the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund. Each of the charities assists people in your local area.
