We must unite over scheme
So the Home Office's idea of a "service that is as convenient as possible" means I have to queue up in some dingy office for hours to get a new passport when before I could get it by post. What a joke.
What's worse, they want to interview and fingerprint me too.
I'm British, and always have been. Why should I be fingerprinted and questioned like a common criminal, just for wanting a passport?
Then there's the ID Card. Want to see the doctor? Then you'll need a £93 identity card. Ditto for going to the bank.
And the snooping Government will make a note on your file every time you do it. Civil servants will poke around in your private records, and no doubt the less honest ones will sell your details to anyone else who wants a nosey.
Let's put more police on the streets instead of spending £20 billion on this ridiculous ID scheme.
I am going to join the new NO2ID group and would encourage everyone to do the same, and write to their MP and local councillor about it too.
If we make a big enough fuss they'll scrap this wretched law and leave us all in peace for a change.
