Mr Paul Weaver, pictured, of Tyn Y Graig, Builth Wells, was described as "a gentle giant" in a statement issued by his family.

They said: "Paul's death has devastated his family, already they miss his sense of humour, making a noise in whatever he was doing, whether it be working alongside family members as the manager of Country Ways Community Care, a venture in its infancy, alongside his mother Pat Roberts and partner Christina, or enjoying time with his son Ben or other close family."

The statement added: "The family moved to Builth Wells approximately 18 years ago when Pat bought Tyn Y Graig Residential Home and during the following two years Paul worked alongside her to build up the business.

"He then worked for Wickes, the large DIY superstores, in management before returning two years ago to the family business in Builth."

The family added: "He always made time for those who were placed in his care, making people laugh, being renowned for his big bear hugs.

"He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him, a man of stature, someone who held no secrets, an open book, a gentle giant."

Mr Weaver's funeral service will be held at St Mary's Church, Builth Wells at noon on Friday, followed by cremation at Hereford.

Later that day family and friends will celebrate Paul's life at the Greyhound Hotel in Builth and they said anyone wishing to join them would be most welcome.
