Love Island’s Jessica Shears and Dom Lever engaged after three months
The couple met back in June on the popular programme, and are taking things to the next level.
Love Island couple Jessica Shears and Dom Lever are engaged, after meeting on the ITV2 reality show three months ago.
Shears said that she was thrilled when Lever proposed the night before the TV Choice Awards, which took place on September 4, and that she does not feel they are rushing things.
The reality TV personality told OK! magazine: “It happened the night before the TV Choice Awards. We were staying in a lovely apartment in London.
“I was doing a Snapchat video saying how lucky I felt when he called me out onto the terrace.
“I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat when Dom got down on one knee – he said afterwards that he has never seen me smile like that!”
Lever said he would have judged somebody for proposing so quickly after meeting prior to taking part in Love Island, but that the time he spent with Shears in the TV show’s villa “cemented” his feelings for her.
Shears, who moved in with Lever last week, said: “I can see why people would say we’re rushing into things but it feels like I’ve known Dom a lifetime.”
The pair, who became very close within days on the programme, were forced to spend some time apart when Shears was eliminated from the show before Lever and were hit with rumours that she had cheated with fellow Love Island star Mike Thalassitis.
