Suranne Jones: My husband wouldn’t get a second chance if he cheated
She told the Jonathan Ross Show she was surprised the series had been such a big hit.

Doctor Foster star Suranne Jones says her husband would not get a second chance if she caught him having an affair.
The actress, 39, is back for a second series of Doctor Foster, the BBC1 drama in which Jones’s character discovered her husband had been cheating with a younger woman for two years.
She told The Jonathan Ross Show she was surprised the drama had been such a big hit, because she thought the infidelity storyline might be off-putting.

“I certainly wouldn’t give my husband, sorry Laurence (Akers), the opportunity for us to move on.
“Not (after) two years. He (Dr Foster’s husband) had a whole separate life going on in the show. I think I’m clean cut, if you want to be with someone else, be with someone else.”

Jones promised series two will be a “different show,” adding: “It’s very dark and it’s very sexy and it’s very tense.”
It is a story about “two people who are divorced, who really hate each other, who still have to parent a child”.
“You can never split up is the point. Because they did have a great relationship, there’s a lot of unresolved sexual energy and we all know if you have exes, and if you meet an ex again, when you see each other again…. all those feelings. I think again it’s uncomfortable… You’ve got a very uncomfortable blended family in series two.”
:: The Jonathan Ross Show airs tonight (Saturday) at 9.30 on ITV.
