Jools Holland is coming back to Birmingham

Now in its 23rd year, Birmingham's Symphony Hall will host two editions of the tour on both November 29 and 30.

Accompanying Jools with the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will be the supremely talented Ruby Turner, with her breath-taking gospel, soul and rhythm & blues vocals, Louise Marshall, with her beautiful soul and jazz tones, as well as original Squeeze member and powerhouse Gilson Lavis on drums.

Additional special guests for the second half of the tour, including the Birmingham dates, will be Pauline Black and Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson from the legendary ska band The Selecter.

The Selecter are celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary with an extended European tour of their own this year - including Birmingham's O2 Institute on October 26. But they have still found time to join Jools and the Orchestra on the road.

Jools has long-running musical history with Birmingham after being behind the opening of The Jam House jazz venue on St Paul's Square with designer Neil Tibbatt in 1999.

A spokesperson said: "With a tremendous collection of Jools tunes and other boogie-woogie classics to choose from, Jools’ UK tour is set to be an unforgettable night out that will have audiences on their feet."

Tickets go on general sale this Friday at 10am. Tickets are priced from £42 (plus booking fee). To buy them, click here or visit the venue's website after 10am on Friday.
