With fringed dresses and feathered headdresses, the Dapper Flappers Charleston dance troupe from Shrewsbury made sure there was a party atmosphere in the Picture Gallery at Attingham Park.

Festive celebrations are well under way at the National Trust-owned estate, where staff and visitors are celebrating a 1920s Christmas.

Claire Tafft, visitor experience manager said: "Christmas at Attingham really is a special time of year. The mansion is looking spectacular with over 19 differently decorated trees, including a dried flower tree, an archive tree and a 15ft tree sparkling in the Picture Gallery."

The Dapper Flappers provided some "thoroughly modern" 1920s entertainment yesterday and will be at the mansion each weekend until Christmas to show off their moves.

The mansion will be open every day until December 23 from 10.30am to 4pm. Admission prices apply.
