For the mum-of-two devotes much of her spare time to creating a stunning range of bespoke cake pops and cookies.

And they have been such a hit that she has now launched her own business specialising in baking and making the three-bite cakes on a stick.

So far her collection has included dinosaurs, footballs, reindeer, snowmen, apples and handbags – as well as the more intricate Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty designs.

And she has just branched out into making specialist cookies which are being snapped up by brides and grooms as alternative wedding favours.

Request

Silvia, who lives in Greenfields in Shrewsbury and is mum to six-year-old Lukas CRT and two-year-old Finley, launched Love Fun Cakes last year.

She says she fell in love with baking cake pops after her son made a special cake request for his birthday.

"Lukas specifically wanted some little bug cakes for his birthday so I Googled it and I found cake pops," says Silvia.

"I thought I would give them a go and we had ladybirds and bees for his party."

Her creations were an instant hit and led to requests from parents and friends for her cake pops. "I have done cakes before for the family but nothing like this. Cake pops are the new cupcake and can be made in any design for any occasion," says Silvia.

"I thought I would try and do some more so I did some Hallowe'en ones and some Christmas ones and, again, they were really well received.

"Then I thought I can do this. So I did some samples and took photographs and went along to a Christmas fair. Then I started to get orders for Christmas."

Cake pops are little balls of cake, dipped in chocolate and then decorated. They are also on a stick, which is great for children, says Silvia.

"They make a perfect little nibble at a party, wedding or christening or a lovely gift and there are thousands of decoration ideas. They can be made into different shapes such as cubes, hearts, animal and cartoon figures."

Silvia says she loves baking and says it fits in nicely with her day job and with looking after her children.

She adds:"It is a nice balance as I work two days and then I do the cake pops when the children have gone to bed. I love doing it."

As well as cake pops and cookies, Silvia also creates smash cakes which are hollow cakes made of chocolate filled with sweets.

"I started the cookies because they seem to be a new craze. They are really great for weddings and as wedding favours.

"I will always try to make anything that people want."
