240 jobs on the way in Telford warehouse plan
More than 240 jobs will be created in Telford if plans are approved for a new production warehouse.
Polytec Car Styling Bromyard Limited, an Austria-based company, hopes to build a new base on the T54 Business Park, at Nedge Hill, bringing 243 new jobs to the area.
The company hopes to use the site to provide 'hi-tech production facility for injection moulding, paint spraying and assembly of automotive components' as well as other areas for quality control and offices.
The plans will be discussed at next week's Telford & Wrekin planning committee meeting and the authority's planning officers have recommended councillors grant approval to the plans.

In a report, officer Steven Drury said the says the scheme would be in three phases, firstly creating an initial building before it being extended twice.
He added: "The site is currently agricultural pasture land but has received full planning permission for the erection of a commercial development across a wider site extending to the south and east.
"The site has been earmarked for industrial development by its allocation in the Wrekin Local Plan since at least 2000. The council's development plan seeks to encourage and promote new business within Telford to boost the Borough's economy and provide jobs for its growing population.
"The growth and success of Polytec over the years has meant that it needs new premises to meet the growing demands of the business and its clients.
"It is proposed that Polytec expand their operations to the application site on Telford 54. The proposed scheme will represent a significant investment in the region's economy, creating jobs and providing the opportunity for the company to grow further."
According to the report, The Polytec Group expects to see a total of 243 staff employed at full development following phase three, with the majority of staff – about 198– working shifts "outside of typical peak periods". Around 45 will work during normal office hours, which planners hope will reduce any impact on the local roads and any traffic.
Other plans up for consideration at the meeting include demolition of garages between 129-131 Crescent Road in Hadley, Telford. The proposals would see a two-storey building containing four flats and a single storey of three garages replace the current structures.
The plans will be discussed at a meeting next Wednesday at 6pm, held at The Telford Suite, The Telford Whitehouse Hotel on Watling Street.
