More than 800 people have signed a petition against a proposed £1 million supermarket development next to a village pub near Bridgnorth.

The pub would also be renovated as part of the project, and up to 20 jobs would be created.
Officials at the company, which bought the pub and the land in 2013, said the public's response to the proposals had been "largely positive".
Plans for the store are due to be submitted to Shropshire Council soon.
Manjit Sunner, owner of Londis, the only other shop in the village, said the petition has gained about 850 signatures.
Mr Sunner said: "The developers came down and told us and that's when the petition started.
"Nobody wants it. It's on green belt land anyway. The customers wanted to start the petition.
"The customers want to keep the village as the village."
Mr Sunner said that the site is on a dangerous bend and could cause accidents.
Mr Sunner said almost all households in the village have signed the petition.
The plans include 15 car parking spaces for the store and a cash machine. A New River spokesman said: "The store is only part of the story as we have been working on plans to the pub. We believe that a really attractive community hub will be created, increasing choice and providing 20 jobs.
"The response we have received has been largely positive."
