Three working mums have joined Shrewsbury-based Purition, which was launched by husband-and-wife duo Edward and Louise Taylor three years ago to manufacture wholefood protein shakes.

The move has seen the Purition team, based at the Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre in Battlefield, grow from five to eight in the space of four months.

Gayle Parker, who has two children, joined the company as head of marketing in March, whilst Lorna McCann and Jill Hart both started working for the business in July.

Lorna, a former journalist and PR account manager with two children, will be looking after the company's PR communications and mum-of-two Jill will be focused on developing new business.

"We are absolutely delighted to welcome Gayle, Lorna and Jill to the team," said Mrs Taylor.

"They will be working with us on a part-time basis but we are confident their skills will help us achieve our ambitions for growth.

"Over the last six months the company has seen a significant increase in sales and we are keen for this growth to continue into the future which is why we took the decision to invest heavily in more staff.

"We are quite aware that there is huge pool of talented, skilled and experienced mums in Shropshire looking for part-time, flexible work."

She added: "As parents ourselves we know first hand how difficult it can be to fit work around having children.

"It's one of the reasons we decided to set up our business in the first place and the reason why we have decided to create several part-time positions and dip into this talented pool of working mums.

"I think it demonstrates that we are a modern, forward-thinking business and we are really excited that with this new team is in place we will be able to grow the Purition brand and launch it to the international market very soon."

Gayle, Lorna and Jill join existing team members Phillipa Garner, Alastair Heath, Robert Jones, Brad Frost and Harry Jacobs.

The business was initially based at Harper Adams University in Edgmond but after 18 months production outgrew the site. It moved to its current base in January 2015.

Mrs Taylor said: "

The next six to 12 months are set to be just as exciting. We have lots of plans in the pipeline and taking our product to new markets across the globe will be a gigantic step in the company's growth."
