Muller apology over yoghurts sent to Tesco
Shropshire-based dairy Muller Wiseman has apologised after sending out yoghurt that was not intended for sale.
A small quantity of yoghurt products made for use in a trial of cardboard trays and not intended for sale, was inadvertently dispatched from Market Drayton-based Muller Wiseman to Tesco.
But these products have now been recovered from the supermarket'sdistribution depot and the issue has been resolved.
A spokesman for Muller UK & Ireland said: "We can confirm that a small consignment of yoghurt products made for use in a trial of cardboard trays and not intended for sale, was inadvertently dispatched to a customer."
"Whilst the products should not have been dispatched and have now been recovered from our customer's distribution depot, it is important to stress that these yoghurts were produced to our usual standards of safety and quality.
"We have apologised to our customer and to any consumers and taken a series of corrective actions to prevent a recurrence."
A Tesco spokesman said a fine had not been issued to Muller for the mistake and if customers had any concerns to contact them.
The spokesman said: "Our supplier has fully resolved the issue."
