Tuesday deadline over offers for Telford tigers
Potential bidders for the Telford Tigers ice hockey team were today given until Tuesday to come up with an offer for the club.
Today's game away at Hull Pirates and at home tomorrow to Basingstoke Bison will go ahead as planned.
The update, from business restructuring firm Robson Scott, also revealed that more interested parties have come forward in an effort to rescue the English Premier League club, which is facing liquidation with debts of £500,000.
Chris Horner, from Robson Scott, said: "Arrangements have been made between Telford brand owners and the general manager, in co-operation with the coach and players, to allow this weekend's games to go ahead as scheduled.
"Following the club's issues with county court judgements, enforcement agents and cash flow, further interested parties have been coming forward looking to take on the team moving forward.
"Robson Scott Associates, in conjunction with JPS Chartered Surveyors, have currently set up a sealed bids process and are inviting interested parties to put forward their bids by 4pm on November 22 in order to have a sale to ratify at the meeting of creditors."
Mr Horner appealed to fans to turn out at the ice rink tomorrow to show their support for the club.
He added: "We encourage all fans to come out in support of this weekend's matches to watch the team protect its place at the top of the table."
Former owner Telford Tigers Wayne Scholes revealed this week that he was owed about £350,000 of the debt and that he was hopeful that the club had a bright future.
