The 47-year-old has senior players Jose Sa, Dan Bentley and Tom King under his wing at Compton, after arriving at the club at the beginning of August, writes Jude Aston.

Sa has been a regular between the sticks for Wolves, but Cutler believes every goalkeeper should fight to take the number one shirt.

He said: “The aim is to always strive to be the number one – that’s why I went on loan a lot in my career – you always have to try to be the number one.

“Being a number two, you have to be patient and willing to be part of the environment and be positive within it, just because you aren’t playing you cannot be sulking and letting your number one down and not be part of his development.”
