Nuno Espirito Santo said Wolves should be proud of their work ethic as they ended a hectic week with victory over Fulham.

Goals from Romain Saiss and in-form Leo Bonatini gave Wolves a 2-0 victory against the Cottagers.

It was a comfortable result for Wolves who stretched their lead at the top of the Championship to four points with what was their fifth win from six matches.

The game was Wolves’ third in seven days after two away trips to QPR and Norwich.

Nuno said: “I’m happy with the result and the performance.

“For a third game in a (week) it was incredible – there was no time to totally recover and the boys go and work the way they did, so we must be proud.

“We were looking for (a third goal) as 2-0 is always dangerous against a team of Fulham’s quality and it would have made us more relaxed.”

Barry Douglas set up both goals from set pieces, sending over a corner for Saiss to put Wolves into a ninth-minute lead and then whipping a free kick for Bonatini to glance home a second before half-time.

It was Bonatini’s 10th goal of the season, making him the league’s top scorer.

The Brazilian also has netted in six consecutive league games, scoring seven goals.

Nuno now wants his team to rest and recover during the international

break.

“(Douglas’s) free-kicks are one of the things we work on but the game goes beyond those situations and I think we created enough of them to score,” he added.

“But it’s three points now and the international break, so let’s recover well because there’s a long way to go.

“Bonatini is a quality player but his work is more than just the goals.

“He works for the team and he’s the first defender we have.”
