Morgan will only sell Wolves to trustworthy owner, says Kenny Jackett

Steve Morgan will only sell Wolves to someone he 'trusts', boss Kenny Jackett believes.

The club has been up for sale since September but Wolves don't appear close to finding a buyer, six months on.

Morgan, who has yet to speak publicly about his sudden decision to leave the club, is said to still be willing to support the club financially in the interim period.

And Jackett said while he wasn't privy to the financial complexities of a sale – with between £30m and £40m thought to be Morgan's asking price – he knows from speaking to the wantaway owner that he has Wolves' future at heart.

The Wolves boss said: "All I do know, in speaking to him, is that he is keen to pass it on to someone that he trusts and he feels will be a sale that is in the best interests of the club.

"The price will be part of that...but he will want to pass the club on to the right people and feel confident of the future.

"He will want it to go to a good home, someone he feels confident in, and pass the baton in the right way.

"I don't know if he's close to a sale or exactly what the bottom line is for him."

Jackett believes Wolves, with its modern training ground facilities and academy set-up, are an attractive proposition for any prospective owner.

"I do feel Wolves, particularly with its facilities, a very good fanbase and a good youth policy, has a lot to capitalise on," Jackett added.

"And it's a club that's already up and running, it doesn't need to be built up. Those things can underpin a club very well.

"While they don't always necessarily drive you on to a great height, they stop you falling away."

* Huddersfield Town are set to sign Wolves outcast Rajiv van La Parra. The Dutchman was reportedly having a medical in West Yorkshire last night.

Town's head of football operations is Stuart Webber, who joined the Terriers from Wolves last June.

Webber was head of recruitment at Molineux and the man who brought in Van La Parra from Dutch side Heerenveen in 2014.
