Attackers at top of Kenny Jackett's wish-list
Wolves are still hunting new signings before the season starts – but Kenny Jackett believes a high number of incoming transfers would signify 'disorganisation'.
A left-winger and a striker are top of Jackett's shopping list after Bakary Sako, Kevin Doyle and Leon Clarke left the club.
However, a new goalkeeper has become less of a priority because of Aaron McCarey's availability.
Midfielders Jed Wallace and Conor Coady are the two first-team signings so far this summer, with teenager Sylvain Deslandes expected to feature predominantly for the under-21s.
And Jackett said the search was on for more ahead of the season starting at Blackburn on August 8.
"Just looking at the balance of it, we are undoubtedly still looking at players and feeling that if we can strengthen we will.
"Yes if we can strengthen before the Blackburn game yes we will, and there are positions that we're predominantly looking at.
Wolves will look to loan out young goalkeepers Jon Flatt and Harry Burgoyne to give them experience of senior football.
And Jackett is using pre-season to assess the rest of his first-team squad, including youngsters Connor Ronan and Bright Enobakhare.
"In terms of other positions that's what these games are for, to look at your squad and see what fringe players can put their name on a shirt for the year.
"Assessing that accurately at the start of the year can set the club on the right path towards a successful season.
"I don't think we need many signings. If we did they would have to be key ones. I'd like to think that we're good enough as a club to never need a high amount.
"When you suddenly need a big amount at once you're coming off a real poor period and disorganisation sometimes."
