Danny Graham backed to fire Wolves revival

Boss Kenny Jackett today insisted loan striker Danny Graham can fire Wolves out of their slump.

Graham opened his Wolves account in last weekend's defeat to Bournemouth and, though the Molineux men endured a fifth successive defeat in controversial style, Jackett felt the performance proved he can be a real asset.

The head coach shuffled his formation to play Rajiv van La Parra alongside the on-loan Sunderland man in a two-man attack. The tactic worked positively, before van La Parra was sent off.

Goalscorers thrive on confidence and Jackett has no doubts Graham, who netted 101 goals in 341 appearances before joining Wolves last month, will be a hit.

Jackett said: "I think Danny has looked like scoring since he has been with us. He has had moments in the box, efforts in all three games.

"He got off the mark on Saturday, scored a good goal and hit the bar with another header. There are goals in Danny Graham, definitely. You need to get the right amount of legs, pace and balance around him.

"He is very sound in his game, in terms of holding the ball up, and as each game goes on he is doing better in the air. His heading is improving.

"I do feel there are goals in Danny Graham. It's up to us to get the complement of players around him that can bring out his strengths."

With van La Parra having had his red card overturned on Tuesday, it gives Jackett the chance to resume the partnership that sparkled with promise last week in Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

With Nouha Dicko still sidelined with a hamstring injury, Jackett explained that van La Parra's pace was a key element in changing to a 4-4-2 formation last week.

Jackett said: "A second forward helped us, particularly one with pace which we haven't had since Dicko has come out of the side.

"They were the key things for me in terms of how it helped us. Danny looks a player that can score, but he looks like a forward that needs a partner, rather than playing on his own."
