Stale Solbakken insists Wolves can get better despite win

Wolves boss Stale Solbakken today declared there is room for improvement despite last night's 3-1 win against Barnsley.

Solbakken saw his team end a run of one win in 27 games as Wolves picked up their first home victory since December 4.

Stephen Ward's opener ended a run of 280 minutes without a league goal at Molineux stretching back to the Bolton defeat on March 31.

But although Wolves at least got the Norwegian's Championship home start off to a flyer, Solbakken reckons they can do more.

"I still think we can do better," said the boss.

"We have to do more work on the training pitch about when to keep the ball and when to go fast forward and read the climate in the game. It was a little bit 'wild west' sometimes but that can happen in the Championship.

"We must learn to control the pace of the game better – when to slow it down and when to speed it up and making the right decisions."

But Solbakken believes the win could be a major boost for players' confidence after earning their first win since February 4 at QPR.

"It's a bit of psychology but it was very important," he added.
