Wolves have missed out on a new left-back signing after chasing £2m Ritchie De Laet.

The 23-year-old has joined Leicester from Manchester United on a three-year deal.

The Belgium international had been scouted extensively by Wolves, with Terry Connor and the backroom staff regularly watching him play for United's reserve team.

Had they stayed in the Premier League, De Laet's name would have been high on the list of potential recruits for the summer.

Wolves were attracted by his ability to play left-back and centre-back.
