Empty seats for Wolves crunch time

Wolves were today facing the prospect of empty seats for Sunday's biggest Black Country derby.

Around 1,000 tickets still remain in home areas for Molineux's first Premier League showdown against Albion, who have sold their 3,000 allocation.

Despite being locked in a relegation battle all season, many home games have been either sold out or very close to it this term with Wolves boasting the highest stadium occupancy rate in the West Midlands at 96 per cent.

Some fans may be put off for safety reasons and the fact the derby is televised live on Sky and at a 12 noon kick-off time.

But others may be voting with their feet following the recent slump which has seen Wolves take just two points from a possible 15.

Either way, Wolves legend and vice-president Steve Bull today joined boss Mick McCarthy is reminding fans their input is crucial.

"It's going to be a brilliant atmosphere and with Wolves needing the points, the fans are going to be vital," said the club record scorer.

"They've been very good down here and they understand the situation and what is at stake."
