Kevin Doyle today handed Wolves a massive boost after revealing he will be fit for the last two games of the season.

The £6.5m striker had been doubtful to return before the summer after tearing medial knee ligaments playing for Ireland against Macedonia on March 26.

But he started running again last week and now believes he will be ready after the Black Country derby on May 8 and is targeting the trip to Sunderland on May 14 and the home game against Blackburn eight days later.

Asked if he will play again this season, the 27-year-old said: "That's the aim.

"I've had a good week with the physios running and we're looking at me being available for the last two games. Hopefully that will be the case and I can have some impact on the rest of the season."

Doyle has missed the last three games, during which Wolves have won a point Saturday's 1-1 draw against Fulham, after losing 4-1 and 3-0 to Newcastle and Everton.

But the former Reading forward revealed there is plenty of confidence in the camp and claims the players believe they can win all of their five remaining games.

Wolves are a point from safety and go to Stoke in their game in hand tomorrow seeking to get out of the bottom three.

"There's no game we don't think we can win away or home. That's why we're still so positive," said the striker. "Everyone believes we're going to get out of it.

"It's in our own hands. The atmosphere has been very good. We've been in and around this situation for the last two seasons, so we're well used to it.

"Everyone's still positive. We have decent games against teams who are in a similar position to us."
