The 21-year-old central midfielder is a product of the Championship club's academy and made his first-team debut three years ago.

He has made 40 appearances, including 22 starts, for the Baggies.

Slaven Bilic has added new midfield options to his squad this summer, meaning there is a chance Field will be allowed out on loan to play first team football.

Shrewsbury have been suggested as a possible destination, though they are among several Championship sides, including Barnsley, Wigan and Charlton, to be interested in a move.

None of the clubs are said to have met Albion's loan conditions at this stage.

Town boss Sam Ricketts is thought to be keen to add another central midfielder, likely a more defensive one, to his ranks. Fulham youngster Tayo Edun is another midfielder to have been linked with Montgomery Waters Meadow.
