John-Lewis, 29, twisted his left knee during Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup tie against Stoke City and was stretchered off, later seen wearing a brace.

The forward, who was playing on the left of midfield and went down under no contact from a Potters player, missed almost the entirety of the 2016/17 season with a knee injury.

He will have a scan today and experts will determine the outcome of the injury tomorrow.

Boss Sam Ricketts said: "Lenny's having a scan today and we'll take it from there.

"Fingers crossed it's not as bad as everyone feared and fears. Until you have the scan you don't really know.

"I spoke to him at the game but have not since, I've let him get his own thoughts but we'll catch us today.

"A scan is only as good as the person reading it so the results will be sent to a specialist."
