Jon Nolan and Toto Nsiala are on the verge of leaving Shrewsbury Town for a reunion with Paul Hurst at Ipswich.

The talented duo handed in transfer requests at Montgomery Waters Meadow after John Askey's Salop turned down bids from The Tractor Boys.

Chief executive Brian Caldwell said the bids from ex-Town chief Hurst were below Town's valuation.

But a deal has since been struck and the clubs finalised details such as future sell-ons over the weekend, after Askey's men lost 1-0 at home to Bradford in the League One curtain-raiser.

The pair are said to be undergoing their medicals at Ipswich.

Askey and Shrewsbury are working tirelessly on bringing in replacements at both centre-half and central midfield before Thursday evening's deadline.
