New forward Aaron Amadi-Holloway will be joined for his debut by four trialists at Ashton Gate, including goalkeeper Ben Wilson, 25, who was on loan at AFC Telford United last season.

Fellow shot-stopper Steve Arnold, 28, formerly of Stevenage is also on trial.

Midfielder Doug Loft, who spent five years with Port Vale between 2009 and 2014 impressed Askey against Kidderminster on trial and will continue today alongside an unnamed trialist.

County Durham-born shot-stopper Wilson began his career at Sunderland and was signed by Cardiff from Accrington Stanley in 2013.

He played 17 times to help Telford avoid National League North relegation last season.

Arnold has had a number of clubs recently, including Forest Green, Dover, Gillingham and Barrow.

Loft, 31, most recently played for League Two side Colchester but made just 20 appearances in two seasons. He made 196 appearances with Vale in his four-year spell and can play left-back.

Another trialist who played in midfield against Kidderminster has not been kept on.

Boss Askey said: "At the moment it's looking like one trialist will fill one goalkeeper place. But you never know, in pre-season somebody might fall out of favour or a team is waiting for somebody to get fit and then everyone moves. That's what we're waiting for.

"(the loanee goalkeeper) is something we're still looking at. We're looking at all options. Whoever out there is the best is the option we'll take. It's important that we get the right one.

"Against Bristol we'll have a good idea. Dougie Loft did really well against Kidderminster but we'll see how he does against Bristol, that will give us a better gauge.

"It's nice to be able to bring people in and have a look first."
